Executive Summary
Walk the halls of A.D. Henderson University School today and you’ll see it everywhere—on classroom screens, in the front office, and even outside the STEAM lab: student work, school announcements, and live presentations, all powered by Vivi.
After trying another solution that piled on hidden software costs and still couldn’t deliver, Director of Technology Dr. Derrick Marsh made the switch to Vivi. Now, teachers and students can share from their devices without disruption. Visitors see a school alive with student work—without stepping into classrooms mid-lesson. Culture is reinforced on every screen, from positive behavior reminders to celebrations of success. And Marsh can manage it all from anywhere—even off campus.
One platform. Every screen. Saving money, saving time, and showcasing what makes A.D. Henderson University School a National Blue Ribbon School and one of the best public schools in America.
The Challenge
Schoolwide displays were inconsistent, costly, and impossible to manage. A.D. Henderson needed a way to showcase classroom work and announcements both inside and outside classrooms.
Marsh initially purchased Kramer devices to the tune of $300 each, only to find that additional software was required for nearly every basic function —the add-ons became cost prohibitive.
Two weeks into the school year, the costs had exploded and the system still wasn’t working.
“When I went to control the displays from my office, they told me I needed to buy additional software. I bought it, but all it only allowed me to see them. To manage them, I had to buy another piece of software. Now, I’m another $6,000 in—and I still can’t do what I need to do.”
The Solution
After refunding the software and cutting losses on hardware, Marsh turned to Vivi: A single all-inclusive tool that met his needs and offered even more functionality—managed from anywhere with zero hidden costs.
“I turned around and purchased all the Vivis. With Vivi I’m able to display and manage everything from anywhere—not just in my office. I could be at home, on the road, at a doctor’s appointment, and log in to manage something.”
The difference was immediate:
- Teachers cast without dongles or interruptions.
- Students share their screens for projects and presentations.
- Displays across campus—from the office to kindergarten STEAM labs—showcase the “Henderson way.”
The Impact
Cost Savings & Future-Proofing
By switching to Vivi, A.D. Henderson avoided piling up software costs and expensive AV systems.
“No doubt Vivi has saved us so much money… Vivi has saved us and also helped us raise money at the same time.”
Tours and donor visits now feature student work on-screen, without interrupting lessons.
“We have tours coming in at all times. Vivi plays the most important role—people can see what’s happening without disturbing classrooms. That helps us raise funds while showing off the great work of our kids.”
Teacher Empowerment & IT Simplicity
For Marsh, management became effortless.
“The number one for me was the management of the displays and our content. No matter the format—YouTube, PowerPoint, Canva—Vivi can handle it. That helped me as a tech person and it helps our teachers as well.”
He can schedule content for events late into the night, and even last-minute requests are easy.
“No matter what, Vivi makes it easy for me to get it up on screens.”
Student Engagement & Culture
At A.D. Henderson, Vivi reinforces a culture of pride and positivity.
“We display the works of all our students on all of our screens through Vivi. If a kid walks into the front office, they might see their work up there. We’re constantly showing positive reinforcements.”
Kindergarten through 5th grade students use Chromebooks to share projects. Character Council uses Vivi’s built in polls feature to check on student well-being.
“If somebody’s not having a good day, teachers can do a quick survey and notify support. We’ve been using Vivi along with our Character Councils as a whole school.”
Consistency & Flexibility Across Campus
From classroom collaboration to AV-quality events, Vivi scales seamlessly.
“We merged two Clear Touches in a room connected to two Vivis—parents saw their kids’ names in lights during the award ceremony.”
“We’ve used it in the cafeteria on multiple screens, in the auditorium, and at orientations to welcome new students. With Vivi, we don’t need to buy extremely expensive AV equipment anymore.”
